Like you, giving to those less fortunate and the causes in which we believe gives our Aktion Club volunteers a feeling of connectedness to our community. Aktion Club is one of many options we have the staff and resources to offer the children and adults we serve because of donor support.
In this year-end issue of Dignity, you will read about Aktion Club and its members’ commitment to our community, about the commendations received and given by staff for making an impact on the work we do every day, and about our annual celebration of donors, like you, who make this all possible.
This event, held in appreciation of the donors who are helping us achieve our mission: to empower and enrich the lives of all people served, also gave us the opportunity to celebrate our 100-year anniversary.
A few years ago, congress has passed a permanent law allowing you to give money to charity directly from your IRA — without counting it as taxable income. If you are 70½ or older and need to complete your required taxable IRA distribution before the end of the year, consider making all or part of your distribution a tax-free gift to a 501(c)(3) charity, like Goldie Floberg.
The Challenge allows Goldie Floberg two years to raise our goal of $150,000, the maximum allowed amount. The Carroll Starr Endowment offers a generous $1 to $3 match for up to $150,000 raised.
