Our Direct Support Professionals are the backbone of our agency. A great DSP wears many hats. They are teachers, role-models, advocates, facilitators, assistants, confidants and servant leaders. Great DSPs are quiet heroes whose work often goes unrecognized by society. That is why we were very excited when  Governor Quinn proclaimed September 8 through the 14th Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week. The Goldie Floberg set out to make this week a special one for our amazing DSPs! Management staff conducted surprise DSP appreciation drop-ins at our group homes and other programs throughout the week. Each drop-in had a different surprise for the DSPs. DSPs were surprised with ice cream, gift baskets, doughnuts, pizza and other treats. Our hardworking DSPs deserve all the appreciation we can give them and we are happy for this special opportunity to show our  admiration for the work they do.
