A Staffing is a meeting held on your family member’s behalf twice a year here at the Center. Staffing meetings are generally held during the business week but can be held on weekends or evenings at the request of parents or the people we serve. During the staffing your family member’s development and programming will be discussed and the Person Centered Plan will be developed and reviewed. Direct Care staff, Supervisory staff, Case Manager/QMRP and Nursing will be present. You may invite other people important to you and your family member to the staffing. You will receive copies of meeting topics discussed even if you are unable to attend. The Case Manager/QMRP will notify you in advance of the staffing date. |

Children’s Program: During the school year most of the children leave before 8:00 and return approximately at 3:15. School start and dismiss times vary from school to school. After school the children are involved in various leisure activities until dinner time. This is also a time for exercise and skill programming. After dinner, bathing and in room activities occur. Various evening activities include homework, some TV or videos, Boy and Girl Scout meetings, games, sing-a-longs, crafts, and outdoor activities such as bike riding and playing on the playground equipment. Community activities are also an important part of your child’s routine. After a treat the children are in bed between 8:30 and 9:00. Children’s Program: The IEP is the Individual Education Plan. The plan is developed by the child’s school system with input from the parents, the center, and the child being served. The child’s school holds an IEP meeting once a year with the parents to decide what will be worked on during the school year with your child. Your attendance at the IEP is critical. You are the only one that has the authority to have a direct impact on the many issues relating to your child’s education program. We will attend and make suggestions but you are the only one that can make these suggestions happen. |
